I’m Capt. Chuck Jenks. I was very fortunate to have lived in Charlotte Harbor for my entire life. I specialize in light tackle flats and tarpon fishing in Charlotte Harbor, Boca Grande, and Pine Island Florida. I started my Florida fishing charter guide service in 2001, a year after I graduated from Charlotte High School. I try to make every client’s fishing trip an experience to remember for a lifetime. I will detail through my website the types of flats fishing and the types of Tarpon fishing that are available in Charlotte Harbor and Boca Grande. Over the last 15 years I have spent countless days stalking huge tarpon in Charlotte Harbor as well as Boca Grande. Charlotte Harbor flats fishing is second to none in Florida when fishing for snook, redfish, and trout, our three main species that are most often fished for here.
My guide service is centrally located in Charlotte Harbor. Charlotte Harbor is a large estuary located south of Tampa Bay and north of Ft. Myers. I have pick up locations in Boca Grande to the north and Pine Island to the south. I do not offer charters anywhere else other than Boca Grande, Pine Island, and Charlotte Harbor.
As a guide I feel it is very important to teach my clients the proper techniques it takes to become the best anglers they can. I take pride in having a high number of clients that return to fish with me time and time again.
I am not a fishing guide that became a fisherman. What I mean by this is I did not wake up one day and decide to buy a 50k boat, a bunch of expensive fishing gear, have a website built, then learn how to fish on my clients dime. Fishing is much more than a job for me, it is a passion that I have had my entire life. I have spent most of my life fixated on how to become a better angler, when I started to guide clients to trophy game fish I learned everyday how become a better fishing guide. Still to this day I’am always learning how to be a better more efficient fisherman and fishing guide. I spend a lot of my days “off’ scouting new areas to fish as well as trying to learn as much about the behavior of the fish I’m targeting as I can. I have built my business from a lot of hard work.
I have a very established list of repeat clientele and I treat every new client the same I would my longest established client. I have many people who have fulfilled their dream “bucket” list catch with me, I think I get more excited watching someone catch their first tarpon then the person who actually catches it.
