Charlotte Harbor is home to great backcountry and flats fishing. The southwest Florida area provides miles of grass flats and numerous twists and turns throughout the backcountry. The many mangrove shorelines and wide open shallow water flats equal an opportunity to experience what these amazing waters hold. This includes the fish! Whether it be tangling with a snook in the mangroves, or fighting a redfish in the open flats, I aim to offer instructional, informative, and exciting fishing charters for the beginning angler to the most experienced. If you prefer a specific type of fishing such as sight fishing or an artificial only fishing trip be sure to let me know as I specialize in inshore sight fishing for redfish and snook.

The fall and winter months offer the best light tackle sight fishing charters of the year in Pine Island Sound. The water of Pine Island gets gin clear and the tides are low enough for the redfish to “tail”. I use lures for all flats charters from November through February. Two anglers is the optimal amount for these types of charters. The water is normally less than 18 inches and these fish can be sighted from a long distance away.

In the summer months most all fishing is done with live bait. The water temperature is very warm and the redfish and snook like to hang under the mangroves for the shade. I can accommodate up to three anglers for summer time flats fishing.
